Environment Strategy

Our natural environment is of great value to all who live in and visit the City of Onkaparinga and we are already working with community groups and other agencies to preserve, protect and improve the condition of our local ecosystems. 

The Environment Strategy 2014-2019 outlines our approach to how we manage our waterways, coastal areas and native vegetation, and the provision of waste and recovery services.  Across all of Council activities we also need to plan and respond to a changing climate which governs how we design our infrastructure and the streets where people live.

The Strategy contains our Sustainable Environment Principles which underpin all significant decision-making in determining the best course of action, no matter what the circumstance.  They may be referred to when providing environmental programs and services, managing our biodiversity reserves, coast, waterways and buildings, and when designing and planning for our urban and rural areas.
