The Onkaparinga River Estuary is the third largest estuary in South Australia, stretching 10km from Old Noarlunga to the sea at Port Noarlunga. The estuary and its surrounds provide a rich and diverse landscape, including the river, lagoons, floodplains, sand dunes and samphire flats.

We have prepared a report that provides an overview of the estuary’s history, its diverse range of attractions for visitors and locals alike, the issues and responses to its preservation, and what we can all do to maximise its ecological and cultural potential.
